This Comes up 93% of Mattress-Buying Interactions

5/29/2018

According to Sleep Geek research that polled 100 retail sales associates (RSAs), the edge of the mattress comes up during 93% of sales interactions. Many RSAs reported customers sit on the edge of a bed first and if it doesn’t feel strong, they won’t even try the mattress. A bad edge can cost a sale.

This is why Leggett & Platt came up with ActivEdge, our steel perimeter encasement system that eliminates the need for weak, inconsistent foam encasement, and creates a firm, supportive edge.

Our ActivEdge line of the products features the following benefits:

  • Tested 26% more durable than foam encasement.
  • Consistent sleep surface from edge to edge so sleepers can take advantage of the entire mattress and feel comfortable on all parts.
  • Bends 24% easier on adjustable bases, which means less wear and tear on moving part.
  • Compress, fold, and roll-pack ActivEdge products for use in shippable finished mattresses for e-commerce.
  • Boosts coil counts for more contouring comfort and posturization.

Our ActivEdge lineup includes Caliber Edge, Quantum Edge, and Quantum Edge Elite, which features a full frame of narrow-diameter Quantum coils.

When it comes to the edge, it’s important to deliver the best product possible because RSAs and retail managers are counting on a mattress consumers will actually want to try (and buy)!
